Frequently Asked Questions

1. What can I expect in my first counselling session?

Your first session focuses on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying what you hope to get out of therapy. You set the pace, and we work together collaboratively.

2. Do you offer virtual counselling sessions?

Yes. I offer secure, confidential virtual sessions for individuals and couples. This is a great option for clients with busy schedules, mobility challenges, or who prefer the comfort of their home.

3. How does couples counselling work?

Couples sessions focus on communication, emotional safety, resilience, and practical skills to help you reconnect and navigate challenges together. You’ll learn tools you can apply between sessions as well.

4. What if one partner is unsure about attending couples counselling?

It’s very common for partners to feel hesitant. We can start by discussing concerns, setting shared goals, and creating a supportive space so both partners feel heard and respected.

5. What types of concerns do you help individuals with?

I support clients with anxiety, ADHD, stress, relationship concerns, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and life transitions. Sessions are tailored to your needs and comfort level.

6. What is Walk and Talk Therapy, and how does it work?

Walk and Talk Therapy takes place outdoors while we walk at a comfortable pace. Many clients find movement helps with grounding, reducing anxiety, and feeling more at ease during sessions.

7. What if the weather is poor for Walk and Talk sessions?

If the weather is unsafe or uncomfortable, sessions can easily shift to a secure virtual format for that day, ensuring continuity and flexibility.

8. How does your compassionate fee agreement work?

I offer a compassionate fee structure for clients experiencing financial difficulty. This approach is based on honesty, fairness, and open communication so that support remains accessible while still honouring my time and professional commitments.

9. Do I need a referral to begin counselling?

No referral is needed. You’re welcome to reach out directly to book your first appointment whenever you feel ready.

10. What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. This allows me to offer the time to another client and ensures that the schedule remains supportive and fair to everyone.
